Grayson had his first cold and it was a doozy. For a week he couldn't breathe through his nose, sleep lying down (terrible head and chest congestion), rest without waking due to his terrible cough or feel okay. Poor baby was trying so very hard to be sweet and happy and lovely but he just didn't feel good. It was a blessing that the onset of his illness coincided with mommy being done with school for the summer- because G became a velcro baby attached to mommy 24 hours a day- showering with mommy to get the benefits of steam, sleeping in the guest room with mommy, napping on mommy's lap, holding mommy's hand, mommy, mommy, mommy. It was so precious and endearing but very exhausting for our whole little family- who would have thought a cold in a breastfed baby could cause so much disruption.
Finally he is feeling better- his fever is gone, he is napping better and he is willing to be at least 2 or 3 feet away from mommy at times :) His night sleep is totally wacked but...hopefully it will return to some type of normal soon.
We are thankful that he was lucky enough only to have a cold- no ear infection, nothing more and now we are excited to really begin to enjoy our summer together as a family.
