One year has passed since we were blessed with our sweet boy. It is official now that Grayson is no longer a baby but a toddler. He is big and charming and funny and playful and wonderful. Grayson started to walk just a few days before his 1st birthday and is getting better and better at it every day. He loves playing hide and go seek (around corners in the house), chase, peek a boo. Grayson is very serious when he plays- he uses his investigator finger to play with the ball popper or touch the different textures in his books. He calls for mama and daddy and his kitties and squeals when people actually come when he calls. He loves technology of all sorts- cell phones, computers, Iphones, etc and will throw a fit if he can't have what he wants. Grayson is charming but oh so very headstrong and gets really mad at his mom and dad when they take away something he wants or tell him no. He throws his head back, arches his back and cries and cries- until he gets distracted by something else that is. Grayson loves to point to things and touch them with his "E.T. finger." He can lead us all around the house pointing and touching and pointing some more. He really likes it if you point your finger back at him or if you kiss his ET finger while he points at you.
This month lots of things changed- now if Grayson gets less than 3 hours of naps during the day he will sleep all night long (well 75% of the time which is a huge improvement for mommy and daddy). Grayson finally got two more teeth! Now he has a matched set of two on top and two on the bottom. Grayson likes to take things out of boxes even more than before and is very helpful when we are putting away laundry or sorting clothes or books. Sometimes he helps so much that it takes mommy twice as long to do things ;) He is beginning to really pay attention to books and particularly likes the ones with different textures on the pages. He likes to lay down and 'read' by himself and he 'talks' to the pages.
Grayson has not been very hungry lately- he would rather nurse than have food most meals but he seems to be growing and strong so we aren't worried about it. He does LOVE berry or apricot applesauce and would like to eat that with some oyster crackers for every single meal. If he doesn't want something or is just bored in his highchair Grayson throws his food on the floor and watches it fall- sometimes it is funny to him, sometimes he gets upset that the food is gone and cries- but then when mommy gives him more food he just throws it again- silly baby. Daddy spends lots of time cleaning up the floor.
It will be interesting to see where these next months take us- now that Grayson is walking he is so pleased with himself, but he is beginning to get frustrated with mommy and daddy if they don't know what he wants or don't give him the right thing. Maybe that means talking is next....
Grayson continues to amaze me, entertain me, fascinate me... I could go on and on. I love him soooo much. He is clearly the most incredible child in the entire world!
