Grayson is amazing- he is kind, loving, funny as heck and the best child we could ever hope for. We feel so lucky to get to watch him grow and explore and feel so blessed to get to be his parents. So far he has been exceptionally kind to his new little brother as well- what a sweet boy.
Grayson is also incredibly two- there are tantrums, frustrations at not being able to communicate, irritation at being told no, mind blowing meltdowns over not being able to do something himself... but it is all pretty cool to watch (most of the time) as with each passing week he is able to communicate more, explain himself better and convey more information- doesn't mean he is always charming but does mean he is always interesting.
At two years old Grayson
- LOVES baseball (good thing the Brewers seem headed into the post-season because he is going to be heartbroken when he can't watch "ball" every day)
- loves to play any kind of ball- throw and catch, kicking a ball for soccer, golf, adapted t-ball.... any kind of ball
- is sleeping most nights all by himself for 12 hours or so, and napping 2.5 hours most days
- is using more and more words and even beginning to use some two word combinations- but is still using mostly only one syllable of most words making him pretty tough to understand (I am thinking some speech therapy is in our near future) Elmo--> Elm, water --> wa, button-->bu, etc though he does have final consonants now in single syllable words like walk, milk and mine
- Is nursing about once or twice a week at this point (though that may increase now that Keegan is here and nursing all day every day...)
- Loves to laugh along when others laugh and has the most hilarious 'fake' laugh that he uses to chime in
- runs, jumps, climbs, is learning to hop, and is generally incredibly physical and active
- likes to go with Daddy to Miller Park and run around and play on the playground
- is a big fan of ice cream
- goes to daycare at Jody's house twice a week and seems to really enjoy the other little boys he plays with (though he has yet to seem filled with joy to actually get dropped off he does appear to always be having fun while he is there)
- is still a particular eater but right now loves most fruit- will eat bowls upon bowls of fresh pineapple or cantaloupe- most breads, toast with cinnamon and sugar, grapes, beef sticks and sesame sticks
- loves to play the night night game- there are pillows, blankets and snoring involved- though he gets very frustrated if you don't play it 'right'
- is really good at saying "mine!"
- plays catch and uses the most spectacular pitching and catching stance- with very wide set legs and a big wind up- it is awesome
- is a big fan of writing- with pens, pencils, crayons, apps on mommy's phone..... whatever he can get his hands on
- enjoys helping 'cook' -- he can put the bread in the toaster, spread butter, 'cut' veggies, and more!
- is a big music fan and likes to sing Itsy Bitsy, Skidamarink and Wheels on the Bus in the car and the bath
- is precious and perfect and everything I dreamed of- I am so excited to get to watch this boy grow up and become even more amazing.
