Hello my new friend Rice Cereal

So I have been doing a ton of research about when and how to start introducing Grayson to solid foods (I love research). And as always the world is full of conflicting opinions but one of the most recent sets of data with a solid research backing that I have found indicates that solid food introduction is best between 17 and 26 weeks of age. Our baby is 21 weeks old so we decided to take a little test run down the road of solids and try a simple rice cereal/breastmilk combo. The plan is to try it every couple of days and see what he thinks. We are in no rush to change his diet of breastmilk, breastmilk and more breastmilk but we do think that it is time to get him used to sitting in his highchair and exploring different textures. Within the next month we will slowly begin offering single grain cereals with more frequency and then move on to early other solids.
Grayson really likes his highchair, he enjoys sitting like a big boy and playing with his toys. He didn't hate his first try of food either- though he didn't love it. He made a couple of interesting faces- but never gagged or grimaced terribly. He did do a lot of pushing the food out, but then opened up for more so... for a first try it was pretty successful and VERY messy but fun.
