38 weeks

According to Babycenter.com "Your baby has really plumped up. He weighs about 6.8 pounds and He's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). He has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold his hand for the first time! His organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb."
Woo hoo- ready for life outside the womb, that might be one of the best sentences ever in the babycenter updates. We are pretty much ready now at home too. The bassinet is set up in our room, the swing is set up in the family, the crib is in the nursery, the highchair is in the kitchen, the bouncy chair is currently in the guestroom., the frog pod is in the bathroom stuffed with toys... pretty much the kiddo has invaded every room of the house and he isn't even here yet :) All we have left to do is install his carseat in the car and then he will officially have taken over every one of our spaces which should mean we are ready for his arrival.
We went to dinner with my family for my birthday celebration and apparently the baby really likes Mexican food- because Tev FINALLY got to feel the baby not only roll but kick her. I think it may have made her day. We had a lovely time with the family and I was very spoiled on my last 'all about me' birthday. I am super excited about our wireless printer and laptop case (going to make life with a baby much easier and more convenient), my sewing machine is awesome (can't wait to make him something) and I got a subscription to US Weekly- hello pumping time!
Now that he is cooked and the house is ready all I would like (ideally- whatever happens happens time wise) is for him to wait until the 25th of September to arrive. That way I can meet and tour the sub SLP who is covering my leave, get in two good weeks of therapy with my kids and (most importantly) I wouldn't have to go back to work until January 6th or later which would be awesome. But, this is pretty much all up to him now so we will see- I kind of figure that I am one of the few women who actually wants to make it to or past her due date and therefore Murphy's Law indicates he will probably come early. Whenever is really okay with me- so long as he is healthy and here I will be happy.
