Thirty weeks, wow... less than 10 to go, according to the ticker only 70 days to go until the Schmitzel arrives! (well that is assuming he can tell time and is a prompt little guy)
According to all the information I have- he weighs about 3 pounds and is between 15 1/2 to 17 inches long. He is sensitive to light and dark and is 'practice breathing' to get ready for his big debut.
Ry is off work this week because his back is injured- bright side is that he was able to come to the midwife appointment this week. Cheri seemed pleased with everything. She measured me, but I forgot to ask for the measurement because we were chatting about other stuff. We listened to his heartbeat (146 bpm) for a nice long time today- I love that! I didn't gain any weight this last two weeks- but the baby is still growing so I guess all my walking is doing me well. Ryan, Cheri and I also spent this appointment reviewing and turning in our birth plan and hospital pre-registration forms. Cheri reviewed our plan line by line and we talked about each component that was important to us- including the fact that we have complete faith in Cheri and her years of experience to guide us in making the right decisions during labor and delivery. Ryan and I both feel like our birth plan is a great guideline and goal for our experience- but we also are totally aware that there is only so much planning you can do and after that you have to put faith in your care providers and yourself. That is one of the things I really appreciate about Cheri, the time she takes to discuss each point (such as- if we get to a sticky spot- what is more important to you- avoiding a C Section or avoiding a vacuum/forceps delivery?) I feel like she really makes an effort to know our priorities, beliefs and wishes and does everything she can to support us in the goal of achieving a healthy pregnancy and safe and 'easy' delivery.
