Found a Pediatrician!

So... it turns out that my friend Jen and I should always go to the same doctors. She is the one who recommended our midwife (who you all know- I love), she now goes to my general practitioner (Dr Ogor is loved by us both) and Ryan and I officially think we love her pediatrician- who is now ours too.
We set up a meet and greet appointment with him for Thursday afternoon. At first we were a bit put off because we waited for about 20 minutes for him after our appointment time. However, within in two minutes of Dr Esser walking into the exam room I am pretty sure we were both smitten. He is tall and gangly and .... awesome. He gave us his little spiel about him, his practice and his beliefs and practice philosophy- and in that little speech he answered about a third of my questions perfectly without me even asking. He is totally supportive of our vaccination beliefs, feelings about breastfeeding, hopes for delivery and just about everything else. He and his wife both work part time so they can raise their young toddlers (cool that he is in the middle of young parenthood as well) so he is at the office Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays. There are 3 other doctors in the practice (I have two other friends who see a different doctor there and love her as well) and they have office hours until 7 pm Monday through Thursday, and by appointment on Saturdays as well. He completely sold us- he is charming, funny, kind and intelligent. He clearly stated that there are times he doesn't know everything and is happy to do the research so we can make a good decision together. He seems like a really nice guy who is very smart and a good doctor. He is affiliated with Children's Hospital of Wisconsin- so if ever the Schmitzel needs something more serious than an office visit (let's all hope that doesn't happen) we can be sure he will be in good hands.
